Dental Implants in Encinitas – A Permanent Solution for a Confident Smile

At Gregory Skeens D.D.S. – Encinitas Family Dentistry, we understand how missing teeth can affect more than just your smile—they can impact your confidence, your ability to chew and speak, and even your long-term oral health. That’s why we proudly offer dental implants in Encinitas—a durable, natural-looking solution to restore your smile permanently.

Whether you’re missing one tooth or several, dental implants provide unmatched stability and a beautiful, lasting result. If you’ve been searching for a trusted implant dentist in Encinitas, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small, biocompatible titanium post that acts as a replacement root for a missing tooth. The implant is surgically placed into the jawbone and, over time, bonds with the surrounding bone—a process called osseointegration.

Once healed, the implant is topped with a custom dental crown, bridge, or denture that looks and functions just like a natural tooth. The result? A fully restored smile that feels strong, secure, and completely natural.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Choosing a tooth implant in Encinitas comes with a number of life-changing benefits:

  • Permanent Tooth Replacement – Unlike bridges or dentures, implants are fixed in place and designed to last for decades.
  • Preserve Jawbone Health – Implants stimulate the jawbone and prevent the bone loss that occurs when teeth are missing.
  • Natural Look and Feel – Dental implants restore your smile without anyone knowing you’ve had work done.
  • No Impact on Nearby Teeth – Unlike traditional bridges, implants don’t rely on surrounding teeth for support.
  • Improved Chewing and Speaking – You can eat your favorite foods and speak clearly without worrying about slippage.

For many patients, implants are the closest thing to having their natural teeth back.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?

Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are good candidates for dental implants. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Adequate jawbone density
  • Healthy gums
  • No active periodontal disease
  • Good overall health
  • A commitment to oral hygiene and regular dental visits

Even if you’ve been told in the past that implants weren’t an option, advances in technology and bone grafting techniques may allow us to help. During your consultation, we’ll perform a thorough evaluation to determine if dental implants are right for you.

Dental Implants at Gregory Skeens, DDS

Our Dental Implant Process

At Gregory Skeens D.D.S., we offer a patient-centered, step-by-step approach to implant placement that ensures precision, comfort, and success.

Step 1: Consultation & 3D Imaging

We begin with a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, and 3D imaging to assess your bone structure and plan your implant placement.

Step 2: Implant Placement

The titanium implant post is placed into the jawbone using a minimally invasive surgical procedure. Most patients report little discomfort during this phase.

Step 3: Healing Period

Over the next few months, the implant fuses with the bone to create a strong foundation for your new tooth. We’ll monitor your healing throughout the process.

Step 4: Restoration

Once healing is complete, a custom dental crown, bridge, or denture is attached to the implant, restoring full function and appearance.

We coordinate every phase of the procedure with you to ensure optimal results—and answer any questions you have along the way.

Single vs. Multiple Tooth Implants

Whether you’re missing one tooth or several, dental implants can be adapted to meet your needs:

  • Single Tooth Implant – One implant replaces one missing tooth with a crown.
  • Implant-Supported Bridge – Two or more implants can support a bridge to replace multiple teeth.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures – For patients missing most or all teeth, implants can anchor a full denture securely in place.

Our team will explain all your options and recommend the solution that fits your smile, lifestyle, and long-term goals.

Dental Implant Care and Maintenance

While dental implants don’t decay like natural teeth, they still need proper care. We recommend:

  • Brushing and flossing daily
  • Using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste
  • Scheduling regular cleanings and checkups
  • Avoiding tobacco and smoking, which can affect implant healing

With good home care and professional support, implants can last 20 years or more—and often a lifetime.
